The Real Smartness
Hai tech-craze fellows, I'm sure that you must read this article about GOOGLE's new project on SmartPhones!! Are SmartPhones really smart enough to fulfill the need and greed of modern youngsters? "Yes", you may say; yeah, I don't disagree. It of course satisfies the need but what about the greed and craze of youngsters in buying and using new updated phones (I mean the hardware). Every phone becomes out of date one day, whatever may be the price of phone. And you should agree with me , Huh!!
Please don't say WOW
GOOGLE, the BIG BOSS has sensed the reality and came up with the new idea - the project 'ARA'. Its concept is 'Modular' Phone. Is it not amazing?? Yeah each and every important parts of a SmartPhone (Camera, TouchPad, Graphics, Display, Storage, Memory, CPU [Oh my god!!] , Connectivity , Battery etc etc) are replaceable. Thus it paves way for infinite combinations and possibilities. Just think of a phone where you could change the normal camera to a night vision just by changing camera module of it. Yeah! camera is JUST A PART OF IT. What if you break your TouchScreen accidentally. Have you to go in search of customer service center to replace it? No, because the project ARA says "Just buy a new TouchScreen module ;Replace it yourself ; Go on!". That's it.
You may think " The Phone has got removable parts, so phone may not feel strong enough to resist normal to heavy usage". But the fact is that, it is very much reliable cuz the modules are fixed to the basic skeleton of the phone by means of a very strong ElectroPermanent Magnets. And after all you can just relax and believe google. Isn't the name ARA looking crazy? It is named after the project's chief mechanical designer, ARA. End user can buy a basic phone of this project for US$50 which is said to contain frame display, battery , low-end CPU and WiFi. It is said to have 3 different sizes mini, medium and large.
What an idea!
The aim of google in this project is that "once bought is bought forever". This concept can give rise to infinite capabilities ( according to wikipedia; It is mentioned that the parts have ∞ Modular
capability!!?? ( wikipedia/projARA check this out ; It would really be funny) ). And the actual aim of google is to introduce open hardware platform , so this could pave way for other companies to design modules for their project. This concept of openness is well utilized by google in making ANDROID a great success (yeah ! it is a open-source operating system).
And the project is to be first implemented at Puerto Rico by the end of this year (2015) and soon to the rest of us! Out of 7 million people in the world only 2 million uses smartphone (some statistics says! ) And GOOGLE aims the rest 5 million non-SmartPhone users ( and the 2 million SmartPhone users too!! Greedy guy , isn't he?) . This project is expected to greatly reduce e-waste since the basic skeleton never tends to become obsolute! Donot forget to check their official sites @ www.projectara.com & motorolaara.com.
"Why buy a SmartPhone for Camera, instead buy a Camera for a SmartPhone !"
